RECENT RESEARCH IN JAPAN has shown that negatively charged electrolyzed water has greater antioxidant strength of vitamin C than tap water. The synergistic effect is due to the higher disassociation/ionization constant of the electrolyzed water. This water is also known as "the hangover cure" by placing alkaline ice cubes in a glass of alcohol to neutralize acidity and help to prevent hangovers.
Other studies have shown that electrolyzed water produces antioxidant behavior that protects DNA from free radical damage.
